On April 21, 2018, WEC held its annual Earth Day 5K race at the Steep Rock Preserve. This event was nearly race free, as runners and walkers were encouraged to bring their own water bottles and wasteful "goodie bags" were not offered.

DOING GOOD

This year WEC's 5K featured a shoe drive through Rerun Shoes. Donors contributed "gently used" shoes for resale by African entrepreneurs. This program helps needy children and families and helps the planet by reusing shoes responsibly. Thanks goes to Woodbridge Running Company for their help in coordinating this effort!

Additional thanks goes to Fast Track Timing for their assistance in a great race every year!
